En stor nyhet for mange: Den danske stormesteren Schandorff gir som han selv skriver et hardtslående åpningsrepertoar for hvit med 1 d4 d5 2 c4, bygget på velprøvde, men skarpe varianter som tar sentrum og straks legger press på motstanderen. Han sammenligner med viktigheten av en god serve i tennis og også at det er nyttig å ha en god annenserve i reserve, så vi får noen hint om alternative varianter å kunne satse på.

Boka er basert på bl.a. Avbyttevarianten med senere Sge2 mot ortodoks dronninggambit (i motsetning til Avrukhs "Grandmaster Repertoire 1 d4 volume 1" som benytter Katalansk), 3 e4 i mottatt dronninggambit, 5.Lg5 i Semi-Slav, 6.Ne5 mot 5...Lf5 i hovedvarianten i Slavisk og 5.c5 mot Slavisk med 4...a6 og ellers oppskrifter mot Tarrasch, Tsjigorin, Albins motgambit osv.

Boka er veldig konkret og oppdatert, så dette er stoff for spillere helt til topps, men det grundige repertoarkonseptet med logiske åpningsvalg og ikke svært variantrik presentasjon gjør at både materialet og boka også kan benyttes av spillere med ratingstyrke ned mot 1000-1200.
