Varianten har i nyere tid vært ganske populær i verdenseliten, men "teorien" er nok for de fleste langt mindre kjent enn de tradisjonelle Lg5-systemene. I sin tid var det også med dette Lf4-trekket at Simen Agdestein 16 år gammel slo Boris Spasskij på Gjøvik i 1983.
