En variert og innholdsrik bok spekket med tips, fyndord, kjøreregler og prinsipper for nær sagt alle sjakkspillets områder. Mange gode eksempler er aktuelle for spillere på ratingnivåer fra 1200 til 2100.

Forordet er skrevet av stormester Avetik Grigoryan. Boka har mange lærerike eksempler, men vi savner noen ganger trekkene som førte fram til den aktuelle stillingen. Forfatteren er en aktiv sjakktrener som selv er en amatørspiller med ratingnivå cirka 2000.
