En både underholdende og ganske seriøs bok med partier der den ene spilleren har gitt opp i en stilling som slett ikke var tapt. Stormester og sjakkjournalist Ian Rogers har også systematisert eksemplene fint.

Mange av partiene er med ganske kjente mestere og stormestere. Som en del av bokarbeidet har Rogers gått eksempler fra sjakkhistorien nærmere etter i sømmene og kunnet sortere ut partier som likevel ikke var riktige etter bokas formål, enkelte av dem i virkeligheten tapt på tid eller spilt videre.

Australian grandmaster Ian Rogers is a journalist, author and commentator. He was Australia’s top-ranked player from 1984 until his retirement in 2007. He played 14 Olympiads for Australia and won more than 130 classical tournaments on four continents, including twice winning the Commonwealth Championship title. He resigned unnecessarily only once!
