Most 1 e4 specialists have ready-made solutions to the Najdorf, Dragon, Sveshnikov and other main lines, but against the O’Kelly I get the impression that players of all levels are not so well prepared. The general view is that White is just a bit better after any of 3 Ìc3, 3 c3 and 3 c4, and the chess world seems to have been content to leave it at that. I have found that matters are not so simple.
